“A Lost Ball”

I pondered for a while whether I’d convert this photo to black and white or not. The color version is nice, too. I finally decided on the black and white as I thought there were enough contrasts to make it interesting. What I can’t do in post-processing, however, is fix my focus issue… if you look carefully, the ball is slightly out-of-focus.

“Bath!”

Bath time is a daily routine that Jasmine won’t ever let us forget, which is great. “Bath! I want bath!” Did I mention that she also loves brushing her teeth? I guess we are lucky… if I didn’t know it already.

“The Guessing Game”

You know the drill… I don’t write about my subject but I let you guess what it is… good luck!

“Down The Drain”

There are photos like this one where I wish I had my tripod. Considering it was taken at f/1.4, I’m very happy with how it came out, but I find the out-of-focus area in the foreground to be a little distracting for my taste. This is one subject that would definitely benefit from a reshoot… I can envision the result becoming a favorite of mine.

“No Water Day”

Not sure what the water department did there… right in front of the house. It stayed like that for a couple of days. Well… yet another photo opportunity!

“Waiting For Avatar”

It’s been almost three weeks and I have to admit that when I imported this photo, I was really wondering what it was for a fraction of a second. That’s all I got folks! I know, very anticlimactic. I wanted to take a photo including the famous 3D glasses. As it sometimes happen, I forgot to change my camera settings off timer. So I press the shutter release button, and you hear… “bip… bip… bip… bip… bip bip bip bip bip… click!” Not really the kind of attention you want to bring to yourself in a crowded theater. So I took the shot… and bagged the camera. As for Avatar, I highly recommend it. It honestly is the best movie I’ve seen in a very very long time. The 3D is wonderful. Imax is nice, too.

“The Woven Chair”

Well, you will have to guess the chair as this is an obvious pattern detail. In the spirit of some of my latest photographs, I am shooting some of the most common objects around me these days. It’s interesting to see how we can so easily overlook the familiar.

“Left For Dead”

Yes, it’s that time of year again… I guess some people don’t wait until the Three Kings to trash their Christmas trees. I actually haven’t found it to be celebrated much if at all here. It apparently is more of a European and Hispanic tradition (Catholic roots).

“The Stucco Wall”

I think it’s one of the oddest light switches look I’ve ever seen. Stucco was applied onto it so it blends within the wall. As it stands, it can be found in our living room. I grew so accustomed to it that it now seems entirely normal… a part of my environment. Sometimes – if not always – it’s good to challenge what we know, only then do we have a chance to change our paradigms. A path to rediscovery.

“The Ceiling”

Sometimes there’s not much time to shoot, sometimes I deliberately try to shoot within a short period of time. After so many days spent on this project, it actually gets easier and easier to do so. I now click much faster on what is potentially interesting. While I don’t think this shot is great, there’s a concept… I spent maybe five minutes on my daily photo that day.
