“Watercolor”
I wanted to be a little creative tonight and play with patterns created by dyes in water. There is no trick going on here. It’s actually a very simple setup: a vase filled with water, a work light and a blue dye. Am I omitting something? Clearly, yes, but it’s not too hard to figure it out. My grandfather used to paint watercolors on that same exact medium. The sheet I used is in fact a leftover from his last Canson block. It’s amazing to me how this shot appears to be a tribute to him, although I didn’t consciously do it. One could debate a long time whether it just happened by chance or not. Both theories would be equally right and wrong on a logical basis alone. I choose to believe in the poetic version, the one that brings a smile to my face ![]()
