Project 365 – Day 57

“The Potato: Part Three”
Too much time has passed since I last played with it. I had a few ideas but couldn’t bring them to fruition due to a lack of resources at hand. Eventually, I need to complete this project one way or another so I decided that today was the day to bring it out of the fridge. If you are interested in the narrative, I recommend you read the previous posts first:
- “The Gnarled Potato” – September 1, 2009
- “The Potato: Part One” – September 8, 2009
- “The Potato: Part Two” – September 11, 2009
As you can see, it has been over a month since I first started using the potato as a subject. Thankfully, it conserves itself quite well for a perishable. I took advantage of a dirty baking pan to set up my oven shot. I wish there was more light to play with from inside the oven but I ultimately preferred the clinical look I could get out of an external source. I applied the same processing I had already used for my previous shots. Clearly, that project is not about the aesthetics of the overall picture but geared towards eliciting an emotional response. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Maybe it doesn’t work and you’re indifferent to it. Any comment is appreciated.
