“In Her Dreams…”
It’s past midnight as I write this post, which makes commenting on this photograph all the more difficult. At this very moment, I’m doing my best to fight the urge to run under the covers. My daughter had just fallen asleep when I took her picture. I want to thank my wife for suggesting me to capture this moment. In my search for originality, I tend to sometimes overlook how the more common happenings of life can make for equally great photos.
The very tricky part was to find a good angle and composition. Given the boring or even unsightly elements in the frame, such as Jasmine’s pacifier and the couch, I decided to use my lens wide open and focus exclusively on her little baby toes, which efficaciously blurred everything else out. This time, no contrast boost nor sharpening in post processing. Just pure softness.
