“Spyder3″

As resting on the new LCD screen I got for Christmas. A Spyder3 is a calibration device for monitors, something I’ve been in dire need of. I had something else in mind for this shot, but couldn’t get it quite right… then I visualized a very low key concept. After some work in Lightroom, here it is. I might have gone a tad too far in the process… you be the judge. That could actually make a great advertising campaign: “If you can’t see this, then you need to calibrate your monitor”. Ah!

“Lights And Darks”

Literally. I saw our laundry bags laying around and thought to myself that it was serendipitous. What else can I say? Ah… yes… but of course… Happy New Year 2010!

“Corner Bistro”

Caroline had wanted to take me out to “Corner Bistro” for a long while. The best burgers, she’d always say. Well, I have to admit that they didn’t disappoint. I had to have a second one and highly recommend them. As for this shot, well I misjudged the lighting… I know it’s not working, but unfortunately I don’t have anything better for that day. I didn’t bring my camera for the following New Year’s Eve party, which probably was a wise decision.

“The Armchair”

Here’s a low key photograph for a change. I went for a very simple composition with the curvature of our armchair. It was more of a test since there was so little available light, but I ended up liking the result. Jasmine was on my lap as I was processing this shot, and actually expressed contentment. When I asked her if she liked it, she nodded. When I asked her what it was, she replied “chair!” I couldn’t believe she’d recognize it. The fact that she enjoyed it was the icing on the cake.
