I really didn’t think this would end up being the photo I’d choose for the day. I took it from a small kitchen window, but I’m not sure if this is obvious to someone who doesn’t know it. Personally, the format and colors remind me of an old television.

Rain was pouring over the fire… lane, which inspired me for this shot. The lights from the street helped reinforce the human demarcation. I was lucky enough to capture a few raindrops splashes in the process. The one in between the R and the E is particularly visible.

Looks like the fat bat recently lost its freedom… or is it a masked advertisement to the attention of Gotham city? I’d be interested to know what the artist had in mind. Lots of intermingled references here.

Walking along the Bronx river, I found this place where water would ripple in a very painterly way, reflecting the surrounding trees and clear blue sky in charming patterns. It reminded me of the work of John Harris, an oil painter we met at the Armonk Outdoor Art Show last September, which consisted almost exclusively of such water ripples. I loved it for its abstract qualities.
