Back in New York and already missing Maine. This made for an extremely boring photograph.

I have a lot of catch up to do! We spent the last two weeks in Maine with my parents, a very relaxing and much needed vacation. During that time, I also traveled to Paris for an interview, so it was good to be able to relax not only prior to it but also after. Maine is such a beautiful state, I really wish we could have stayed longer.
After our long drive from New York, these birch trees welcomed us when we arrived to the resort. The light nicely painted their trunks and branches, inspiring me to take this shot.

I was on my way to photograph the recently adorned houses in the neighborhood. Indeed, Christmas is coming! So far, only a few neighbors have started to decorate their lawns, and I couldn’t quite get a picture I liked. Then I stumbled upon this.

Why did I take this? Well, I guess I like signs. I also liked the high contrast scene, the play on light and shadows. That’s about it. The actual message on the sign didn’t inspire me much, nothing to look into there.
