We were celebrating New Year’s Eve with friends, enjoying the great panoramic view they have of the city along the way. That’s also the only photograph I took that night. Putting down the camera to better enjoy my friends’ company.

I brought my parents to the airport one day after so many flights were canceled due to the storm. Theirs was delayed for an hour and a half… which turned into eight hours and a half. JFK was quite a sight. You couldn’t tell where the lines ended and luggage were piling up. You see these people on the escalator? They’re not going down, they’re waiting. When my parents arrived at destination (after missing their connection twice), they had no luggage. To this day (ten days later), they only received two out of four.

A very familiar Manhattan scene, one that felt suspended in time for me to capture. Two tourists who apparently went shopping in the city were now looking for their way back. A special weekend train schedule is affixed to the wall, which at times can even be disconcerting to native new yorkers. For minutes, these two were looking at their subway map. I literally had all the time in the World to take this photograph, a rare occurrence when it usually “all happens in a New York minute”.

Our friend Dave was having his big Four-O birthday party tonight, duly celebrated on the rooftop of his apartment building. Took a few shots that are unfortunately way too private to display. I ended up not taking any other photo today, so what you see here is a crop. You’ll just have to imagine the rest :)
